Who we are as a Communion

We are a religious Christian institution united together through the Gospel of our Lord and Savior Christ Jesus. The United Ecumenical Communion of Christ is a Communion of independent parishes, churches, and ministries that are divinely connected by an ecumenical vision of unity in Jesus Christ.

The United Ecumenical Communion of Christ looks, (in-part) towards Anglicanism as an historic example of the Ancient/Future episcopal model of the Church. The United Ecumenical Communion of Christ subscribes to the core beliefs of Anglicanism and the Thirty-nine Articles of Religion, yet we are an independent Communion from the Church of England and free in our ability to view and practice as we see fit. Our Communion is inclusive of apostolic roots, Celtic origins, patristic influences, the Protestant Reformation, the Wesleyan Evangelical Revival, the Oxford Movement, and the Modern Charismatic Movement.

The United Ecumenical Communion of Christ is a Communion of ecumenical practice, belief, and worship. This means that each parish, church, or ministry within our Communion maintains its own independence and autonomy, but we operate as one body. Also, each parish, church, or ministry within the Communion fully recognizes the catholicity and apostolicity of the other.  One parish, church, or ministry is not above the other, or judges of the other, neither should it remain insensitive to the needs of the other.

As a Communion, we seek to minister God’s redemptive gift of love and grace. We also view compassionate service as essential to our faith. We seek to make disciples in all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey the Word of God. We are driven to serve and share the Good News about Jesus Christ in a myriad of ways throughout our neighborhoods, communities, and around the world.

Our faith empowers us to demonstrate the work of Jesus Christ throughout our daily life. We encourage and foster local efforts of mercy and justice in every community we serve as we follow the lead of Jesus Christ. We strive to love our neighbors as ourselves and respect the dignity of every person and the individuality of each or our churches, parishes, and ministries.

We welcome all to find a spiritual home within our Communion.

Across the globe, "the Lord's Church united in Communion"
